    3. To all my lists: Looking for older obituaries online? This news library might help. http://www.newslibrary.com/nlsite/index.html http://www.newslibrary.com/nlsite/region_pgs/glakes_search.htm -- I was hunting obits for mid 1970s & prior but some newspapers in this library only go back to around 1979, which could still be useful to many of us. Here's the deal for using this library.......... "NewsLibrary will let you find old newspaper articles by finding the words or phrases that appeared in those articles. You will be presented with a list of dates and headlines, along with the first few lines of each article. Select the article that you are looking for and click on the link to download the full text. Please note that photographs and other graphics are not available. You won't be charged anything until you view the entire article, but you will need to get a Passport password when you do." http://www.ohio.com/bj/library/ - "Searching is free. The cost of each article is $1.95 per download. NewsLibrary also allows you to search the archives of more than 80 newspapers across the U.S. and Canada." [my note: I can't find Canada.] http://www.newslibrary.com/nlsite/index.html Jacquie

    2. Barbara - I show Enoch Burrows buried in union co OH, union twp, milford center cemetery, in section one, between rows 19 and 20. There is no date info on him -- only the following -- Burrows, Enoch, Co F, 68th Ohio Inf. If you go to my site, click on history of union co oh 1883, then go down the page, and enter his name in the pico search block -- back will come many sources that contain either his full name or the first and last names separate. Go down the list of items that it found until you find enoch burrows. Then click on the heading source and go down the list until you find the info. It will take you some time to find his name in the source. But it is worth the time to find info on your ancestors. After you go down thru the first ten pages of sources, click on the next 10, and so on, until you go thru all of them. hope this helps you, Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and hope you have a joyous and successful New Year and find everyone in your family tree. My great-great grandfather was James Burrows who was born in West Jefferson(Madison County)Ohio in 1837. I'm told his father was Enoch Burrows who married a Mary Stepko in Union County on Jan 25, 1842. Mary must have been a second wife if my info linking him to my James is correct. I have info on James in Illinois, he first married a Sarah C. Steenrod from this 1st marraige came my great grandmother, Minnie Burrows Baker. They all lived in Logan County Illinois, James divorced Sarah and remarried he had several more children from 1st marraige. Also there is Charles Burrows in Logan County Illinois who was either a half brother of James or a cousin. We wish to fiqure all this out, So any help on Enoch Burrows would be apprecitated. A listing from the 1850 Union county Census for Enoch and any other Burrows should be helpful, if anyone has access to that Census. Thanks.-Barb Seggelke

If "Harlow" is a legit member of the list , you have a virus coming from your computer. 3. Barbara, That is the virus that was harassing many people on rootsweb lists about a month ago (though by no fault of Rootsweb). the virus places a "_" in front of the sender's name and sends itself to everyone in that person's inbox. the "_" makes it so the person does not know e-mail is being sent. It may have been sent to you because you sent a message to this list at some time and it was in Harlow's inbox. It's good to know that there are smart people like you who are not only stopping the virus from spreading, but trying to alert the person who sent it that they have a virus. 3. I am seeking the location or information of the SOUTHARD residence of Marysville, Union, Oh. Probably built in the early 1900's for the Southard family and most likely built of stone or with stone features. My BUNNELL ancestors were well known Stone cutters and monument makers in the Champaign county area, in which they're business extended to many other counties. It was known that they constructed the stone work for the Southard residence. Any information on this structure greatly appreciated. Tobias Bunnell Urbana, Ohio tbunnell@woh.rr.com

Our descendants were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of ancestors danced in their heads. So I at my laptop, near trusty old printer Put the finishing touches to the project of winter, The gift I had promised for under the tree A product of love, the family genealogy. My table with clutter galore was aspread with pedigree charts of the living and dead; old yellowed photos, letters of yore, wills and diaries chronicling days from before. While others bought gifts at Wall-Mart or Sears, I'd spent my time searching birth dates and years. No need for ribbons or fancy gift wrappings, This gift had a way of transcending the trappings. While surveying the charts with one final proof, I must have missed the sound on the roof. For what to my wondering eyes did appear, But the jolly old elf, replete in his gear. Searching my face, old Santa could sense My Christmas spirit was extremely intense. He spied my research on the table spread out, "A genealogist!" he exclaimed, "that removes any doubt." 2. Kelly S. Smith
    3. Dear listers, I just received an e-mail from a cousin's e-mail address with a subject of our family's surname. It came from an e-mail address she has not used in some time but that I know still appears on many rootsweb and genforum message boards. Of course all that was there was a strange looking attachment. I scanned my computer with the online virus scan and came out clean... probably because I live by two rules. 1: Never open an attachment form someone you do not know! 2: Never open an attachment from someone you DO know unless that person tells you they are sending an attachment and EXACTLY what is on the attachment. It is much easier to delete a file you are unsure of and have it resent when you know what it is, than to re-write your hard drive or buy a new computer. Its aparent that the hackers have found a way to get e-mails from the boards. I'm just upset that these people may be spreading their nonsence using our identities.
