    3. Jacque, In searching for the library link that you gave in the below message, I have been unable to access the database. Do you know if it is restricted? Still looking for a marriage of Mabel Rhoads who was 14 in the 1910 Union Co., census. Also need a death date for Martha SILVERTHORN ( after 1910) whose husband, Dave SILVERTHORN died in Union Co. There seems to be no such names on the cemetery indices for Union co. Checking the Ohio Death Cert. Index lists only one Martha SILVERTHORN who died in Cuyahoga Co. 1. [OHUNION] Re: OHUNION-D Digest V02 #11 - Welch 1870 census
    2. Charlene - Reference your message below. I looked at my 1870 OH census index. There are 40 James Welch listed. In the future, please provide more info on something you are wanting assistance with. It is hard to look for something when you have no known info to go on, especially with 40 matches. If you will tell me what James' age was on the 1860 census, I might be able to match one or two of these James Welch to the info you are looking for, and send it to you. In my current day place finder, the town of Pleasant Valley is found in the following counties in OH - Lake, Pike, Cuyahoga, Coshocton, and Ross. Maybe it is an old town that no longer exists in Madison or Union counties. I am at a standstill on the SILVERTHORN family. Perhaps if I can track down descendants of Mabel RHOADES, I can find a clue. I do not know the name of Mabel's father, but the grandfather could have been Harry RHOADS or William RHOADS who were born in Marion Co., OH. I have been unable to locate them after 1900. 1. [OHUNION] Anthony Wayne CARREL (CARROLL)
    2. Eric
    3. Who raised Anthony Wayne CARREL (CARROLL)? Anthony Wayne CARREL was born somewhere in western Pennsylvania 20 February 1806 and raised in Central Ohio. Anthony's parents were Philip and Mary CARREL who with their nine children John (b. 1798), Mary, Margaret, Joseph, Anthony, Catherine, Henry, Jane and Philip Jr. (b. about 1813) were in Jefferson County, OH in 1813. The father Philip Carrel died December 1813 while in the service of the United States during the War of 1812, and his estate was administered in the Court of Common Pleas in Steubenville, OH in 1814. Ephraim CELLARS (SELLERS) was appointed administrator. When word of her husband's death reached Mary she released Anthony Wayne, age 7, into the custody of a neighbor or family acquaintance to raise as his own child. We do not know who this person was. The court later appointed Ephraim CELLARS as guardian of the four oldest remaining children in 1814. Other names mentioned in the court documents are John HENDERSON, John WOLF, Abraham CRABB and Jacob SHELL (SHULL) as bondsmen and appraisers. Young Anthony thus became separated from his family at an early age, and was raised in Central Ohio. Anthony's records start up again in 1826 in Granville, Licking Co. where he married Miss Belinda ROOT, a daughter of Noble Root and Damaris BARRETT. Anthony married 2nd Orpha G. (GREEN, BUSHNELL) LINNELL after 1865. He died 27 April 1882 in Olathe, Johnson Co., KS. I am seeking any information on the whereabouts in Union County of Anthony Wayne Carroll (Carrel) between 1813 and 1826, between the ages of 7 and 20, and who raised him there. I am also seeking any information about what may have happened to his eight brothers and sisters and his mother Mary, and any descendants. Philip Carrel Jr. may have married a FELTENBERGER in Harrison Co, OH in 1832. Eric
