I found the arrival in New York of John, Catherine and Margaret Owens on May 29, 1860 aboard the Mariner. John's age is 23 Y and 6 M, Catherine is 30 Y and 8 M, daughter is 6. In the 1860 the family was living in St. Clair, Schuylkill, PA, he is working as a miner, and there is James Thomas age 20, also a coal miner, living with them. This family matches up with the data from the ship manifest. In 1870, I cannot find then living as a family in PA or other areas of the US. The name may have been spelled wrong and bad enough that it does not show up on a soundex search. The Catherine Owens that is in the 1910 census in Trumbull Co. Ohio, fits your Catherine, accept that she is buried in Brookfield next to another man and claimed on the census to have never had any children. What other clues do you have that she was in Trumbull Co. Ohio? Is it possible that she did not stay with John?
