Gustavus and Poland are about 35 miles apart, but were both settled very early in the Western Reserve. Gustavus is in the northeastern corner of Trumbull County, and Poland is in the southeastern section of Mahoning County. Cowden is a name that comes up often in these parts. There were also early settlers in Wayne township, Ashtabula Co., which is where I was born and raised (southeastern corner). Good luck in your search. Blessings, Linda
