Bobbie, I checked "Pioneer Women of the Western Reserve" for both surnames. Page 229 . in the section about Champion it says the 6th family to arrive were William and Catherine (Rupp) Durst from Juniata Co., PA. They arrived in the spring of 1828 with 8 children and $400. In the "History of Trumbull and Mahonong Counties" on page 556 , it says the first saw mill in Champion was built by William Durst on Young's Run. There were no Werts in either. Gayle
