    3. Norma, You might want to look at a publication Called "Ohio Lands - A Short History" it is available though the State of Ohio's office of the Auditor. I ordered one by mail several years ago and refer to it regularly. It is now available online at: http://www.auditor.ohio.gov/Auditor/Publicat/Publicat.HTML It is an Adobe Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format) so you will need to have the Acrobat Reader to view it. There is a button at the bottom of the screen which will link you to the Adobe page if you don't already have the reader. Maggie Zimmerman has put a web version of the publication online at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohfrankl/Land/ohlands.html I'm no expert, and you'll need to check into this further, but according to a drawing on page 8, it looks like T2 would be what is today Coitsville Twp., Mahoning Co. and T3 would be Hubbard Twp. in Trumbull Co. Part of what is now Mahoning County was until 1846 a part of Trumbull. If T3 is in fact Hubbard Township, you might want to contact the "Hubbard Historical Society" they have a web page, and you can ask questions by clicking on the little mailbox on the page http://www.hubbard.lib.oh.us/pages/Organizations/historical.htm As for General George Armstrong CUSTER, he was born 1839 in New Rumley north of Cadiz, in Harrison County, the son of Emanuel Henry (December 10, 1806 - November 17, 1892) and Maria Ward Kirkpatrick CUSTER (May 31, 1807 - June 13, 1882). His parents were married on April 14, 1836 in New Rumley. (Maria was his second wife, his first was Matilda VIERS) I do not know if he was living in Mercer Co., PA before moving on to Harrison Co., OH. I found the General's ancestry at "The Custer Genealogy Home Page" http://www.jps.net/dcuster/ You might also want to take a look at "The Castor Association Homepage" at http://members.tripod.com/~EbneterG/index-9.html They have quite a few Custer links. Hope this helps, Kay Schaney e-mail: kstarr@rochester.rr.com *Trumbull County, Ohio - U.S. GenWeb* http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohtrumbu/ > -----Original Message----- > From: Norma Rice [mailto:nbrice@net-port.com] > Sent: Monday, November 30, 1998 2:41 PM > To: OHTRUMBU-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: RE; JOHN CUST; TRUMBULL CO., OH, 1815, 1816, 1819 > > > Seeking identification of John Custer 1815, 1816, 100 acres, T2 > 1819, 100 > acres T3 > Where would T2 be located?
