Hi! I have a question...My grandfather, William BEATTY, was born in Trumbull County on 5 Apr 1921. According to family legend: when he went to join the Army to fight in WWII an aunt had to vouch for his age and birthdate because there was a fire in the Trumbull Co. Courthouse and his original birth certificate was destroyed. I was wondering if this was true. If not, I would like to obtain a copy of his birth certificate -- how would I go about doing that? I'd like to find out the middle name his mother gave him at birth -- he always went by William Edgar, but his aunt stated that it was William James. Thank you! Brenda
