I am planning a trip to Warren/Niles at the end of the month, and one of the items I am seeking is a record of an adoption. My ggrandmother, born in 1861, was orphaned, I believe in WVA, and then adopted by a Mason family in Niles, OH. (I believe the Masons were distantly related to her mother.) Does anyone have any idea where I might find a record? Would I look for probate court records? Would the records be at Warren? Any help anyone can offer as to where to look would be appreciated!
