Wanted: A reply from all descendants of veterans from the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, 1861-1864. I am constructing the history and genealogy of the 24th Ohio Infantry Regiment. My idealized focus is ambitious, recording each veteran's antebellum and post-war experiences, as well as their war service information. I need help tracking down the descendants of the 950 veterans. To aid you in determining whether you have a veteran in the unit, below is a list of counties where the companies were organized: (A) Huron (Norwalk) (B) Muskingum (C) Erie/Ottawa & Columbiana/Mahoning (D) Adams (E) Montgomery (F) Trumbull (G) Huron (Monroeville area) (H) Cuyahoga (I) Highland (K) Coshocton To view the roster of volunteers from each company, use this web URL: http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Senate/1861 Click on the blue underlined county names to find the veterans from each county. Please reply with a brief note concerning what you may know or have about each veteran. All persons who contact me will be noted in the upcoming book as sources of information for each veteran. Also, I will share what I know about the 24th Ohio Regiment. If you have any questions, please contact me, John Rutherford, at the following email address: jrutherf@juno.com I offer my sincere thanks for your help.
