He was born 24 Nov 1909 in Kinsman, a son of Adelbert & Anna Shoemaker Betts. A lifetime resident of the area, MrBetts was a farmer. He had been a member of Kinsman United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, former Hazel Cole, whom he married 29 Dec 1930; 3 children: MrsJanice Coe; Colleene (MrsRonald) Dolan-both Andover; Fay "Sonny" Betts-at home; 3 sis: Mary (MrsClifford) Allen-OlatheKS; Evelyn(MrsAlfred) Mathews, MrsBetty Stewart both-Kinsman; 7 grandchildren & 8 gr grandchildren. One sis: MrsMabel Blair & 3 bros: Theodore, James & Robert preceded him in death. There are no calling hours or services, cremation will take place. Arrangements are being handled by Baumgadner Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf or the American Heart Assn. She was born 3 Dec 1912, a dau of Samuel & Ivah Meikle Cole & was a resident here most of her life. Before retiring in 1976, she was employed 26 years at Packard Electric Div-General Motors. Her husband FayA BettsSr, whom she married 29 Dec 1930, died in 1991. Survivors include 3 children: Fay "Sonny"-Kinsman; MrsJanice Coe, MrsColleene Dolan-both Andover; a bro: Perry Cole-Andover; 7 grandchildren & 8 gr grandchildren. A sis-Opal Ohl, preceded her in death. Cremation was held. Arrangements were handled by Baumgardner Funeral Home. There are no calling hours or service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Burghill-Vernon Colunteer Fire Dept. {Interment in Kinsman Cem}
