OBIT: OH-Warren Tribune 08 Dec 1936 HARRY LEROY SHARP: Kinsman; 61, prominent contractor & well-known figure in the civic & fraternal affairs of the twp died yesterday afternoon. He had been in failing health the past 5 years. MrSharp had been engaged in road construction the past 15 years & had lived in Kinsman all his life with the exception of 8 years during which time he resided in Parkman. He was known thruout the county as a horse racing enthusiast, being particularly interested in harness racing. He was proprietor of Sharp Hotel in Kinsman but due to his contracting business his wife, CortelleM Sharp, was in charge of the hotel. He was born in Kinsman 20 Oct 1875, a son of Lewis & Julia Betts Sharp. He was a member of Parkman Congregational Church, Gustavus Lodge 442-F&AM & OES-Parkman. He died on the 94th birthday of his mother-MrsJulia Sharp. Surviving are his wife MrsCortelleM Sharp; 1 son: Harlan Sharp-Kinsman; his mother-Kinsman; 1 bro: Ralsa Sharp-CarnegieOK; 1 sis: MrsMinnie Hayes-Warren & 2 gran! dchildren. Service will be conducted Wed afternoon at McLean Funeral Home. RevElmer Minnigh-ParkersLanding PA will officiate at the funeral, assisted by his son RevWendell Minnigh-NewCastle & RevCharles Albright-Kinsman. The Gustavus Lodge 422-F&AM will have charge of the services at the grave. Burial will be made in Kinsman Cem. OBIT: OH-Warren Tribune 24 Mar 1942 CORTIE BATES SHARP: Kinsman; 63, the proprietor of Sharp Hotel, landmark for tourists here under the name Sawdy House for more than 50 years, died last night after an illness suffered since Christmas. She was MrsCortie Bates Sharp, widow of HarryL Sharp, who died at the hotel which she has operated since her husband's death. She was born 19 Feb 1879 in JamestownPA, a dau of George & Nancy Towner Bates. MrsSharp for many years had been active in social organizations here. She was a member of Phoenix Chapter-OES, belonged to various groups at the Congregational & Presbyterian Church & was a member of the Social Art Club-Kinsman. Surviving are 1 son: HarlanL-Kinsman; 2 grandchildren; 1 sis: MrsGertrude Bush-Williamsfield; 2 bros: Morah Bates-Conneaut & EarlBates-DenverCO. Service will be conducted Thurs afternoon at McLean Funeral Home with burial in Kinsman Cem.
