The funeral took place from his later residence, East Kinsman on Sat at 1PM. Interment in Kinsman Cem. OBIT: OH-Western Reserve Democrat 01 Sep 1899 JAMES V BETTS: died Thurs evening. He had been sick a number of weeks. {Interment KinsmanCem} OBIT: OH-Warren Tribune 15 Feb 1943 SINA HOBART BETTS: Kinsman; 92, oldest woman of the community & only CivilWar widow living there, died at her home Sat afternoon of infirmities of age. MrsBetts, the widow of James Betts was born 15 May 1850 in Vernon to Luman & Rebecca Splitstone Hobart, who were among the first settlers of that area. She was a member of Kinsman Methodist Church. Surviving are 3 children: MBoyd & AH-Kinsman; MrsXalia Nickerson-Greenville; 9 grandchildren & 24 gr grandchildren. The body is at McLean Funeral Home where services will be held Tues afternoon with Revs Edgar Miller & LH Stebbins in charge. Burial will be in KinsmanCem.
