She had been sick only a few days with influenza. Mr-Mrs Higgins often attended church here & only a week before her death attended church & communion services which were conducted by the district superintendent, Isaac Miller. She was a woman of beautiful Christian character & was beloved by a large circle of friends in Hartford. The family has been very sorely affected with every member being sick with the dreaded disease but MrHiggins. Their youngest son Ashel, a boy of 16 years passed away Saturday. The other members of the family are reported as doing nicely. Brief private services were held Thurs at the home of MrsHiggins. Burial was made in Kinsman. Private services will be held Mon for Ashel. The community extends heartfelt sympathy to MrHiggins & son William who are left to mourn their loss. OBIT: OH-Warren Tribune 30 Apr 1938 DUDLEY ALLEN HIGGINS: Farmdale; 65, died early today at Warren City Hosp from complications following an operation performed 8 days ago. He was born 2 May 1872 in EspyvillePA, a son of Henry & Anna Bates Higgins. The deceased had resided in Trumbull County for a number of years & for 38 years was employed by the Reick-McJunkin Dairy Co-Pittsburgh. At the time of his death he was in charge of the creamery at Farmdale. MrHiggins was a member of the Methodist Church at Fowler & the Odd Fellows Lodge-Cortland. Surviving are his wife-Evelyn Skidmore Higgins, 2 children: Helen Louise-at home, WilliamH-Farmdale; 4 bros: Lee-Youngstown; Jasper-CranesvillePA; Perry-Geneva; Grover-Andover; 4 sis: MrsMinnie Daniels, MrsSylvia Storier-Andover; MrsCarl Snyder-StonenboroPA & MrsBelva Grinnell-GenevaPA. Services will be Mon afternoon at Kisman Methodist Church with RevS Burnett-Struthers & RevCharles Albright-Kinsman officiating. The burial will be in made Kinsman Cem. OBIT: OH-Warren Tribune 25 Jan 1967 EVELYN HIGGINS-MrsDudleyA; 71, died Tues afternoon at Imperial Nursing Home where she had resided since Oct 1965. She ws born 21 Jun 1895 in RandolphCntyWV, a dau of Archibald Skidmore & Dora Scott. On 21 Jun 1921 she wed DudleyA Higgins who died 30 Apr 1938. A resident here 28 years, coming from Farmdale, she was a member of Tod Ave Methodist Church & a charter member of the Mary Circle of WSCS She was employed as a medical records clerk by Trumbull Memorial Hosp for 13 years retiring 1 Sep 1965. Survivors include 2 children: William Higgins-Phoenix & Helen (MrsTL) Marshall-Warren; a sis: MissStella Skidmore-Warren with whom she made her home, 4 grandchildren & 12 gr grandchildren. Service will be held Fri afternoon at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fowler Cem.
