I'm also not sure of Russell's age, but the relative's I have pictured with him were all born between 1902 and 1916/17 and look fairly close in age so it is possible. I'm pretty sure they're probably related in some way, but not sure exactly how. Cousin, maybe? I can provide a little more information once I dig my file out..
