I think this diary thing is very interesting. I happen to be in the posession of five diaries during almost that exact same time period and also written in Warren. The first diary was for 1879 and the last 1884. She never missed a day until she went into labor (I only know that because of knowing the date of the birth of her daughter.) Then there are no more entries because she died about a week later. The diaries I have were written by Ettie Wartman who married Fred Biggin in January 1884. I hope sometime in the next few months to transcribe or at least post names that appear. I know there are Chamberlains mentioned as well as Powells. I also have a journal written in 1858 by Amos Casterline's wife. They had no children, so I know there are no descendants. Amos's sister was Ettie J. Wartman Biggin's mother Mary Ann Casterline Wartman. Patti -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Patti, Do you know if this Amos Casterline if in any way related to Lester Casterlin that died at Gallipolis, Ohio in 1863. Lester also served in Trumbull Guard, an Ohio Volunteer Infantry group stationed at Gallipolis for the duration of the war (1861-1865). Mike Trowbridge > I think this diary thing is very interesting.
