Can someone look up a cemetery record for me, please. It would be for a James Burnside who lived in Niles. His Civil War pension record (which I just found) says he died August 27, 1880. His wife's name was Elizabeth. I seem to remember getting this info but at the time I don't think I knew who he was. Thank you! Linda

I suspect that she died as an infant as she was born in 1849, is found in the 1850 census, then "disappears" from all family records after 1850. Hi Linda, No Burnside(s) listed in 1909 Trumbull County History, also checked the probate records, 1803 to 1843, no results. There is one marriage for John Burnside, but it is in 1889, did John have a son? The ones that I find seem to be in Kinsman Twp, do you know what area they lived in? I think this is your John Burnside's grave, Niles Union Cemetery, Weatherfield Twp. John G. Burnside b. 5/15/1840 d. 1/2/1885 Next to him is listed J.R. Co. C 134th PA Inf, no dates John was young when he died, so his wife may have remarried. Do you have her first name from the obit? There are a lot Burnsides buried in the Kinsman cemetery, both old and new. Might check the early history of the western reserve, by Upton, which is on line. I found it easy to search,, but no results for my family so far. The old section of the cemetery has the graves of the first settler in the area. Good luck on your search. The people at the Warren Library are very helpful, check their Web Site for hours. Thank you for this info! I think they all lived in or near Niles. He is the son of my ggg grandfather's brother. I will send this info to my cousin. I am wondering who J. R. is? I don't think John G. had any children. His widow did remarry but I don't remember who but I was under the impression she was next to him. I think (if I remember correctly - those Kinsman Twp.
