No luck again. I'm rather surprised at that, if they were in Trumbull Co. at the time, since the draft records are usually pretty nearly complete. There were 3 registrations carried out in 1917-18, and included all men between 18 and 45 (officially, those born between 11 September, 1872 and 12 September, 1900. Even aliens were included - citizenship didn't matter. So, as soon as I get to Trumbull Co. I'll check the City Directories for Warren and Niles for James, Frederick, and Wilson. I'll also have a look at the burial records to see if I can find any of them. The largest cemetery in Niles is (or was) Union Cemetery. It's now known as Niles City Cemetery. Keep your fingers crossed! Dave W. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Fred would have been 40 or 41 and Wilson would have been 38 or 39 years old then, were they to old to join? I also thought I did when I got back the obit on James and saw he was from New Castle, PA. The obit didnt list his wife's name, it just said she died 10 years before him. If you can please check the City Directories and Cemetery listings when you go to Trumbull County, I would be so grateful. This has been very frustrating for me working on this side of my family. I also had a hard time finding out who Rosanna and her Brother Nathaniel Pritchett's (my Great Grandfather) father was. I did get a break when I found the marriage of their mother to their father. Again I am stuck on Samuel Pritchett and lost him in after the 1880 census, I cant find his death date or place of death so I can order his death cettificate. :( I don't understand why this is so hard to find these people in the records. I am waiting for a death certificate on Rosanna's first born child and hopfully that will list her "real" name on the certificate and also her Jamison husband's name. I guess I will have to give up on them again. :( Part of me doesn't want to, but the frustrated part of me does! Thank you so much for all your help Dave. Have a great day. There is none listed between 1900 and 1925 in the indices. I had also checked for deaths in the local indices (1867-1908) before the State began keeping records in October 1908, and in the online State records beginning in 1908 - all without success. However, the State records tend to be a bit spotty in the first few years, so it *is* possible that her death went unrecorded. There was no listing for either James Bailey family (Rosanna or Margaret) in the 1910 Census for Trumbull Co. Nor any listing for a Wilson Bailey or Wilson Miller in the Draft Registration records for WWI in Ohio (or WWII, but he may have been dead by then). I really thought you had something with the obit for James from 1936 until I saw his wife's name. Then again, it mentioned only nieces and nephews as survivors, which means that Fred & Wilson would have already have been dead. I'm afraid the only other suggestion I have is to check City Directories and Cemetery listings when I get to Trumbull County. That may be a few weeks. This certainly *is* frustrating! I don't think a family could have been any more successful in avoiding location via public records if they had actually been *trying* to hide!! Dave W. We last found them in the 1900 census, I would guess Rosanna died before 1910. This wife Margaret died in 1926, it is possible that he remarried Margaret after Rosanna died. The only way to rule this James Bailey out is to do a marriage lookup on on Margaret and James Bailey. Can you please lookup their marriage? Also do you have any suggestions on how I can find the death or obit on Rosanna? She had to have died before 1911. My cousin sent me a paper that her grandmother wrote about people in our family, there is a name on there that I never heard of. It is Griegs, maybe Rosanna married a man with the surname Griegs? I tried searching that and couldnt find anything. This is driving me crazy, I stopped searching for Rosanna and the Miller boys for awhile because it was making me crazy. LOL Something makes me try it over again. I know it's harder to find women because of name changes when they marry, why cant I find them Miller boys? Thank you so much for all your help. The address is 3993 McClure East Rd., Newton Falls, Ohio 44444. You can look at the property at the Trumbull County auditors page: co.auditor.trumbull.oh.us click property search and search by address. I also looked at it on Google Earth by address. There is a current house and barn on the property, but built in 1900, so it's most likely not the same house. On google earth, there appears to be an area that may have been where a house stood. There were other Kings in the area that may be brothers or cousins...Frank King was a cobbler and lived on Rt. 534 (Milton Blvd), maybe 3/4 mile from Samuel. There was also a King farm at the intersection of Bright Baldwin Rd. and South Canal (formerly Kale Creek Rd.) onthe other side of town. I will keep asking the old timers about him, someone has to know, it's a small town! Do you know if the daughters married? Will keep you posted... (they did it to me also) I am attaching the obit (nov. 18, 1916) that list Wilson as from Niles and Fred from Van Wert. They are listed as a half brother to William James Jamison. (I sent away for William's death certificate, that should tell me about Rosanna and the missing Jamison father that I am looking for) I did find Mary J. "miller" and "Sarah Miller" (both of those two are not Miller's) This has been a big problem finding out who is who because it seems that Rosanna has been married a few times. Just like that daughter Mary J. Miller that is listed in the census that you found, I think she is the Mary J. Pritchett that is listed in our family bible as Rosanna's brother Nathaniel and Francis Pritchett's (my great grandparents) daughter. I should send for her death certificate also from New Castle, Lawrence County, PA. Her obit list her as the daughter of Frank Webster and wife. I hav! e no idea of who that is. She was raised by my great grandparents (is listed in the census as a daughter of theirs) I know for a fact that she can not be a born child of theirs because she was born before their marriage. This is all crazy! I am still trying to find info on Fred Miller, Wilson Miller (their wife and children etc) Their father Sylvester Miller ( I have no idea if that is their birth father and if Miller is really their surname, I believe it might be because they were listed as Miller in the obit I have attached) and their mother Rosanna Pritchett-Jamison, Webster, Miller Bailey. Rosanna must have died before her mother and brother because she wasnt listed in their obit's. Her death must have been before 1911. If you need anymore info please let me know.
