    3. I just discovered a new source (at least for me) to pinjpoint your ancester at a given point in time. At the Local History Library at the Warren, OH library, there is a photocopy of a book that lists the earmark brands for people in Vienna Township, Trumbull Cty, OH starting in 1807. I would think that other areas would have a similar register so they could identify stray animals. I now have found the fourth reference to an elusive ancestor.

    3. Aaron, Unfortunately, when I took over the Trumbull County Site, some of the information that was previously on the site was missing, I did the best I could to reconstruct what was there. If anyone has copies of any of the missing information that they copied out for themselves, that I could use to replace any missing files, I would be happy to do so. 2. John C Rutherford
    3. Wanted: A reply from all descendants of veterans from the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, 1861-1864. I am constructing the history and genealogy of the 24th Ohio Infantry Regiment. My idealized focus is ambitious, recording each veteran's antebellum and post-war experiences, as well as their war service information. I need help tracking down the descendants of the 950 veterans. To aid you in determining whether you have a veteran in the unit, below is a list of counties where the companies were organized: (A) Huron (Norwalk) (B) Muskingum (C) Erie/Ottawa & Columbiana/Mahoning (D) Adams (E) Montgomery (F) Trumbull (G) Huron (Monroeville area) (H) Cuyahoga (I) Highland (K) Coshocton To view the roster of volunteers from each company, use this web URL: http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Senate/1861 Click on the blue underlined county names to find the veterans from each county. Please reply with a brief note concerning what you may know or have about each veteran. All persons who contact me will be noted in the upcoming book as sources of information for each veteran. Also, I will share what I know about the 24th Ohio Regiment. If you have any questions, please contact me, John Rutherford, at the following email address: jrutherf@juno.com I offer my sincere thanks for your help. 3. I am planning a trip to Warren/Niles at the end of the month, and one of the items I am seeking is a record of an adoption. My ggrandmother, born in 1861, was orphaned, I believe in WVA, and then adopted by a Mason family in Niles, OH. (I believe the Masons were distantly related to her mother.) Does anyone have any idea where I might find a record? Would I look for probate court records? Would the records be at Warren? Any help anyone can offer as to where to look would be appreciated! 2. Hi- I am seeking information on Peter SNYDER who lived in the Lordstown area. The years I find him are between the 1830's and 1850's. He was a J.P there for at least 2 terms. Also, Lorenzo D. SNYDER married a Julia Ann Brown from Lordstown. Peter was the J.P who married them. I am hoping to make a connection between Peter and Lorenzo. Any information on either of these Snyder's would be appreciated. Thanks L. Snyder
