Charlie Craig married ELLA M. WILLIAMS in 1877. These diaries belong in the hands of family descendants, so I'm posting this with hopes that this will help bring the diaries "home". Here are links to the auctions: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2196&item=7366634863 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2196&item=7366627907 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2196&item=7366641480
Are these the same three diaries from weeks ago or have there been many diaries by Charles Craig? As our family genealogist I find this very sad and disturbing. Who would even consider selling these individually so that they possibly end up in three separate homes? These diaries should have been donated to the historical society. Has anyone thought of contacting the seller to see if he understands how wrong this is? To him it may just be about the money but it is history! In one of the diaries he mentions a Mr. Robbins who gets hit by a tree. One of the main streets in Niles is Robbins Avenue. My husband's grandfather lived on Park Ave. which is also mentioned. I live in Girard, where Charlie ended his bicycle ride from Youngstown and boarded the train to take him the rest of the way home. It is just heartbreaking to know that these diaries are being sold when they would be such a fascinating addition to the historical society. Has anyone called the historical society and let them know about them? All of these questions may have been asked already and if so I am sorry. I have been busy with preparation for and the visit of out of town guests so I have been out of the loop for several weeks. I simply find this very very sad. Thanks for listening to my rant. I am seeking information regarding Robert Lewis Peters. Robert, his second wife Matilda and daughter Melinda were listed in the 1870 Federal Census in the 3rd Ward of Warren, Ohio and his occupation was miller. This family was also listed in the 1880 census although Roberts occupation was listed as a carpet weaver, possibly an entry error. His family information is listed below with information regarding his children. If anyone has any information regarding this family it would be greatly appreciated. I am in possession of a photo album containing photos of the family members however, there are no names assigned to the photos. Many of these photos contain the listed places of Warren, Ohio, Butler County, PA and several places in Missouri - all places where these family members lived.
