I'm also not sure of Russell's age, but the relative's I have pictured with him were all born between 1902 and 1916/17 and look fairly close in age so it is possible. I'm pretty sure they're probably related in some way, but not sure exactly how. Cousin, maybe? I can provide a little more information once I dig my file out..

That is a good idea. I would like to talk to Alexander Stoddard. He died 15 July 1896 in Johnston [Twp., Trumbull Co., Ohio] (volume 3 of the Trumbull County, Ohio Death Records, page 238). I'm trying to find information about Alexander Stoddard's wife. She gave birth to a son (Walter Scott Stoddard) on 30 Nov 1850 in Youngstown, Mahoning Co. Ohio. I suspect she died in childbirth. In the 1850 census 24 year old Alexander was listed in Youngstown, profession coal miner. His wife was not listed with him in this census record. On Alexander's death there was an obituary in the Warren Weekly Tribune Warren, Ohio, Friday Morning July 24, 1896 which reads in part: "... his remains taken to Youngstown for burial beside his wife whose death occurred several years ago." While in America Alexander spelled his name Stoddard. In Scotland it was spelled Stoddart, and Alexander's parents spelled it Stodhart. When they came to America Alexander's family called themselves Stodart. Thanks for asking. Peter Stoddard [email protected] 916-501-4078

Good Afternoon Trumbull County Listers! A recent list I'm on had a roll call of sorts where members posted their dream list for a unique Thanksgiving Dinner. It allowed members to post the names of family members who they'd like to invite to their Thanksgiving Dinner and ask them a couple of genealogical questions. BE SURE TO PUT YOUR SURNAME IN YOUR SUBJECT LINES WHEN YOU SEND IT! This will give everyone a chance to learn some genealogy as well as give us some insights on what roadblocks in genealogy we all may have. WITH YOUR PERMISSION I'd like to invite our Trumbull County list members to post their THANKSGIVING GUEST LISTS. Consider it a special ROLL CALL for Thursday, November 24th 2005. YOUR NEW TRUMBULL COUNTY MAILING LIST ADMINISTRATOR: Dorian Ryan P.S. If you are away from your computer and can't do so at this time, then send in your GUEST LIST whenever you can find the time to do it.
