Martell's first husband was LeRoy Asa Shield b 1861 d 1911. The children are 2 of her three, Leland Arnum Shield b 1893, & Vance Irving Shield, my uncle, b 1896. They had an older sister Leola or Lola b 1890 she was married at this time. Up until Alice's marriage/move to Akron, the family had been in VA for about 200 years! I did meet her when I was a child & have a photo of her taken in the late 40's or early 50's. This is my group. Vance's first wife was an Akron lady, Clara Kraus. Thank you.
