Balo (nee Williams), 88, died April 14 in Morgan Hill, Calif., at the home of her son. She was born in Raymond, Union County, Ohio, October 19, 1884. She attended Defiance College, and taught in schools in Brunswick and Richwood, Ohio before her marriage in 1920 to Roe A. Balo, who died in March of 1982. Akron was her home from 1920 until one year ago. Mrs. Balo belonged to the Ellestar Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and was a member of the Oak Hill United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by son, Ronald L., of Morgan Hill, Calif.; daughter, Barbara L. (Mrs. William E.) Clark, of Akron; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the Oak Hill United Presbyterian Church, 2406 Ardwell Ave., Akron, 44312, Dr. Harold D. Kelley officiating. Burial Rose Hill Burial Park. There will be no visitation. The family will receive friends one-half hour prior to the service time at the church. The family requests no flowers. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of the Oak Hill Church, or to Friends of the University Library, Bierce Library, University of Akron, Akron 44325.
