Was he traveling in your neighborhood when you were a kid? Went around the neighborhoods in horse drawn carriage, calling out, "Rags, rags, any rags for sale today?" His wagon would be piled up with old clothing, etc. I can't place when he stopped. Maybe after the war. I haven't thought about that for years.
