At one time the two corners touched (Northampton's S.E. and Tallmadge's N.W.)' but never overlapped in any way. The land that occupied both townships was originally in Trumbull County. This area became Portage County in 1808, and became Summit County in 1840. Hope this helps, and happy hunting. The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.
