The Akron Public Library is not a mess. The library has every book out on its shelf including the genealogy department. It is easy to find the books you need. There is plenty of free parking compared to downtown Akron. But, when the library was downtown I usually drove to Chapel Hill and took a bus to downtown. I saved on parking and could stay as long as I want. They even have bus schedules (only know about downtown but presume the Tallmade Ave site has them too). They have plenty of computers and everything is easily assessable. Good luck
