Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DYB.2ACE/2474.1 Message Board Post: I would be inclined to say that the "infirmary" was Edwin Shaw Hospital. 1908 Ohio Legislature passed an act declaring persons with tuberculosis could not be admitted to a general hospital and that each county would be compelled to provide facilities for the care of such persons. 1910 Commissioners in Summit, Stark, Portage, Columbiana, and Mahoning Counties acquired a 100-acre parcel of land in southeast Summit County to build a tuberculosis sanitarium. 1915 Springfield Lake Sanitarium opened, with facilities for 72 patients (later enlarged to 200 beds). You may want to request a look for her death certificate in Summit County. She may have died here and was shipped to Indiana. My great aunt spent time there in late 20's early 30's and died here in 1933 and her body was shipped back to IL. Edwin Shaw has it's own cemetery of which I have a listing for. I think those were people who died AT the sanitarium and no one recovered or shipped the body back home. Janean
