In 1794 Anthony Wayne won the battle of Fallen Timbers, Indian resistance was broken, and the development of the interior of the Ohio country became possible. (page 275 of the "Foundations of Ohio" Vol. 1 "History of The State of Ohio" by the Ohio Historical Society.)
