    2. Brandi, In reference to the "hook factory" my great-grandparents worked at a factory that manufactured fishing tackle. There were many women there that were "floor ladies" or sales people. The factory, showroom, and mail order sales were all in one building located downtown. The company, headed by Earnest Pelfre was incorporated with American fish Hook Company (est. 1864) and known as the Enterprise Manufacturing Company. I don't know when they went out of business, but I know my great-grandparents worked there in the 20's and 30's. If you want to know more about it, let me know, or you can look in "Akron and Summit County" by Karl Grismer As far as rubber companies at that time, they were so numerous, to count, and I have no idea how you would find out were they worked, unless you send for their Social Security application.
