The namesake of Johnson's Corners. Merwins father was Joshua Shaw and his father was Moses Shaw. I am stuck on Moses. Merwins brother was George Shaw of which my husband is directly down from. There is hardly anything found on George. He had a home at Johnson's corners of which was moved up near Grenwich road and is now an insurance co or something like that. George's home was across the street from the old Nash Hotel. There is information on a George A. Shaw, of which was the son of Merwin and was the postmaster and Mayor of Barberton at one time. His office is still standing near the Mc Donalds over by Rally's. I can not remember the corner, something like 3rd street and the Road McDonalds is on. It is a wierd shape. Flat on the corner side of it. I have went to the library to find information on Moses. All of the information the library ha! s about him, I am proving incorrect. They have him confused with someone else. Moses' wife was Cristine ?. They came to Wadsworth from Rhinebeck, NY. That is all I can find. Do you have any ideas on how to find any info on him. Moses was born around 1770's there. I have contacted the library up there, I think they do not want to look, I have had no reply from them. Thank you for your time!!!!!
