In 1920 there was a James A. Mallen on Kling St. in the 5th Ward of Akron. He is 22 yrs old and has 3 other people living with him. Ruth is not one of them. For the 1930 census, HQ does not have an index yet for Ohio so it would take a lot of effort to go thru almost a thousand images to look for him. You may want to check with your local library and see if they have the Ancestry database available inside the library. Ancestry has 1930 already indexed and it would be much easier to find him that way. If you find him and would like an image, I can send that to you once I know where in the census to look for James.
