If you look at the map again you will notice that High street to the North of Market intersects with Broadway and turns into the All American Bridge and at the North end turns into N. Main St. At the South end High St. and Broadway intersect again and once again becomes them S. Main St. High St itself only extends from Bartges to the South to Perkins to the North. I work downtown Akron. So back in 1880 what is now called Main St. could have been then High St. You should check with the Summit County Historical Society or the Summit County Library Akron http://www.ascpl.lib.oh.us/ http://www.summithistory.org/ Janean ----- Original Message ----- From: "Oakwood" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, May 01, 2006 11:58 PM Subject: [OHSUMMIT-L] 1219 South High Street, Akron > Census records indicate that an ancestor of mine lived at 1219 South > High Street in Akron in 1880.
