    1. Re: Pesock/Pisak/Picak
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: PESOCK/PISAK/PICAK Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DYB.2ACE/2442.1 Message Board Post: I read some of your messages on the Luzerne County PA board in regard to the Pisak/Pesock surnames. These names occur in West Hazleton and Transfiguration Polish RC Church. All those forms of the surname appear on tombstones in Transfiguration Cemetery. I wanted to point out that the surname is also spelled Picak, with an accent over the 'c' making the name sound like the Pisak and Pesock forms. The family I am researching that of John Pesock who was from Bistrica Dolna, Galicia. I believe this family was Polish. I also believe he is related to Blasej Pisak you mentioned in those early messages.
