Lou, The East Akron Cemetery is still active. They have a small staff and the sexton is not one who sits in an office. I'm pretty sure his name is John Smith. Sometimes you have to drive by and catch them out working in the cemetery. He has always been helpful. The cemetery is on East Market St. across the street from the World Headquarters of the Goodyear Tire company. It is in an area of Akron which is called Middlebury (East Akron) it was thought that this area in the early 1800s would grow into a large city. When the Ohio canal was put in further to the West the city of Akron grew there and Middlebury was absorbed by Akron as it grew. The area is still referred to by some as Middlebury. Rick in Copley
