Marseen is the son of Silas T. Davis and Eleanor Brummage. Marseen served with the Confederate Army in the 17th Virginia Cavalry. He was captured, 16 Nov 1863, Roane County, WV. Served 19 months in Federal prisons. Married Mahala(Mary) Maze, 5 Oct 1865, Calhoun County, WV. Second marriage to Florence Maze, 20 Sept 1872, Wirt Co., WV. Marseen appears on the 1890 Veterans Census in Jackson Co. , WV. Known children of Marseen and Mahala Maze: Romanza Davis. b. c 1867.
