I am researching the Jacob and Rebecca Kline family of Summit county. My gggrandmother was Lucinda Kline. I believe other siblings in the family were Hannah, Polly, Jacob, William, Rebecca , and possibly others. I found this family on the 1850 census. I was wondering if someone in the area might have more information on this family. Lucinda married Asa Jones of Wooster, Ohio. They then settled in St. Joseph county , Indiana. The Lincoln School site is now where the current #1 Fire Station is in Barberton at 580 Wooster Rd. West. The Fire station was opened in Oct 1974. No Idea when the school was torn down. Sometimes people went by their middle names in the census. I found the naturalization of a Grether in Summit County it doesn't have much info on it but does say he was from Baden.. His middle initial was F. It might be him. I typed in Summit County Ohio clerk of Courts and then click on the third one. There is a disclaimer agree to it or disagree then if you agree to terms type in the name Grether I didn't type in a first name. Hope this helps. My home was built in 1910 but it says 1920 on that site. My understanding is the garage was built in 1920 so don't know. I've seen other people's homes listed wrong too. My guess it would be the same home. They wouldn't have torn down a house and rebuilt another one in 9 years. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Cedar comes up on the Summit County Property Tax Information site. It says that it is a 2 story Colonial built abt 1919. They may not have the correct year that the house was built (I have found that to be the case), or it's not the same house that was there in 1910. http://fiscalweb.summitoh.net/summit/html/webintg.html Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Actually Google Earth is the best for this kind of thing. It can take you to about 900 ft elevation. You can see cars parked in driveways it is so clear. Yahoo doesn't get in as close as you need to. I did 407 W. Cedar and there are still some homes in the area. There appears to be a vacant lot where this aerial focused in on. Unfortunately, with aerial photos you're only getting a look at the roof tops mostly. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. You wanted to know if the house was still there. I offered this site as a way to find out if a residence is still there or not. If it is still there, you would be able to find it on this site, since these are the current property tax records. I thought you might find it useful if you had any other addresses that you wanted to check on. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Yea, they aren't going to show old neighborhoods. Like I said before you can always do yahoo maps, type in the address your looking for and click on either Hybrid or Satelite and it will give you an aerial of the location so you can see what buildings and/or homes are still there. IF the home a person is looking for is still there you can always go back to the Summit Co. site and see who owns it now. The only way to get further back is to actually go to the Recorder Dept. and do a title search. But if you find the home is still there, maybe someone on the lists can always do a drive by and take a picture of it for you. In your case however the whole neighborhood is now gone.
