That is definitely them. Parents were born in Ireland and I can make out "North Ireland" which is faded but readable. Thanks for taking the time to ferret them out. I looked all over but for whatever reason didn't run across the "Dusman" entry. Upon closer observation, I think the name is Durnan - just a bit smudged, so it is harder to make out. Peter did work for a rubber company...I am assuming Goodyear. Another link in the chain! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: cts166 Surnames: Durnan, Callahan Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.summit/5082/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi. I am trying to locate relatives of Mr.Peter Durnan and his wife Mrs. Annie Callahan Durnan. Towards the ends of their lives, they lived at 275 Goodview St.in Akron. In the late 1930's they lived at 299 Sobul Ave. They relocated from Philadelphia to Akron, about 1920. Peter Durnan, b. 23 Sep 1894 in Philadelphia to Edward and Mary Durnan. Peter had a number of brothers and sisters, including, John, Mary, Rose, Edward, Thomas and Francis. Peter Durnan died in Akron 22 Jan 1979. Annie Callahan b. abt. 1896 in Philadelphia to Owen and Hannah McCarthy Callahan. Annie died in Akron, 16 Aug 1973, at the age of 77. Annie's father lived with them in the late 30's. His obituary mentions one grandchild (no sex given). I also cannot find their 1930 entry in the Census, which might give the child's name. That child was not mentioned by name in either Annie or Peter's obituary. I am guessing there may have been only one child as Owen Callahan died in 1937 and the likelihood that Annie had another child in her 40's was probably not high. If you recognize this family, I'd love to talk with you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Can you explain what this means.......... &nbsp. Also....... Norton Twp. (now City of Norton) is in Summit County. There is a tiny Norton Historical Society and you can find it on their website (City of Norton, Ohio) just google it. Doylestown is in Wayne County. You may want to check on line as to the formations of these two Counties....... dates and formed from what county. Back in the early days....... Portage, Summit, Medina, Wayne etc. all were merged from one another. But anyway, you may need to check Wayne County records if they went to church in Doylestown. Just an FYI........ I went to Norton High School and there were Casenheisers at NHS......... Snyder was also an old Norton name....... so your in the right territory. 3. The only William Minnich I found was one that was born 7 Sept 1868 in Norton Twp., Summit Co., Ohio and died 21 Jan 1942 in Norton Twp., Summit Co., Ohio. He was the son of Joseph & Elizabeth Infield Minnich and the husband of Elva (maiden name unknown). He is buried in Loyal Oak Cemetery, Summit Co., Ohio. This info was found on Summit County, Ohio death certificate # 6394. I would like to get an obit looked up in Akron. The death occurred on 25 Nov 1937. The deceased person was Owen Callahan, widower of Hannah McCarthy Callahan. The body was moved to Philadelphia for burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. I am hopeful that he relocated with relatives and I can fill in some family from that line. Can anyone tell me if there is a library that provides lookup service in the Akron area? Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I recently found out that if someone dies in another county/state that they do not have to file the death certificate with the county that they are buried in but the cemetery receives a copy of the death certificate. So once you get a copy of her death certificate from Montgomery County it should say where burial took place. Her second husband, George Weyant, is buried in the Glendale Cemetery in Akron. Supposedly, Martha, the name of my grandfather's first wife, died in Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio, from injuries that she sustained in a car accident. Therefore, I do not know if she was buried in Miamisburg, or if she is buried next to her second husband, George. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
