Hello I rec'd two death certs today, but can't make out the writing. Looks like it might be Green Twp. Summitt Co Cemetery or town, Issland, and also a name that looks like Greentown. Would anyone have any idea's Thanks Sue
Some time ago several people were wanting photos from the Glendale cemetery. If you want ones of the historic buildings, several have been uploaded into a photo album on the following site: www.rootsweb.com/~ohsummit Click on photo album. There is an index of the pictures in it. Noreen

Dear Pricilla, It would be from the Netherlands. Anne Marie
Are we talking Dutch as in Netherlands or Germany? The German-speaking Evangelical Brethren Church was very active in Green Township. Priscilla
I would appreciate if I could get a newspaper announcement for Minnie Holmquist who supposedly died in 1979 and Lorena Stroll who died sometime in 1990. These two are sisters with the maiden name of BEE. Thank you most kindly. June Newman; jnewman@houston.rr.com
Dear Listers, It seems to me that I have seem somewhere that there has been mentioned something about Dutch churches. Would anyone know about that? Being that my great great grandmother was Dutch, Mary Elizabeth Coster b. 1857, I thought that maybe I should look in that direction. My mother has always insisted that the whole family line was Catholic but I am really wondering if the Catholic religion didn't come into play with her mother and not the McEnerny/Coster line. Anne Marie
Dear Lisa, Thank you so much for looking. I was told that my family was RC all the way down the line but I am wondering since there were 4 of 8 children born in Akron why there are no records of baptism? Anne Marie
The wasn't anyone with the surname Fleshman in the book. I am trying to find out any information possible regarding Wilhelm and Carolyn Pofahl Denzin. Also Johanne Draheim Denzin & her husband Albert Denzin. I believe they migrated from Germany to Akron, Ohio. frascona@up.net

St. Vincent's is older, I believe St. Bernard's was started by some of the German parishioners from St. Vincent's in 1861. St. Bernard's and Glendale cemetery are on S. Maple St. close to downtown Akron. I checked the St. Bernard's book and didn't see any McEnery's in it. Sorry, Lisa -----Original Message----- From: AnneyMac@aol.com [mailto:AnneyMac@aol.com] Sent: Sunday, February 10, 2002 10:24 AM To: OHSUMMIT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [OHSUMMIT-L] Catholic Church in Akron, OH I may stand corrected on this. Hi I might be wrong about which Church is the oldest but St. Bernard's was established in 1861, but I did think it was much earlier. So St., Vincent's might be the oldest Catholic Church in Akron. Except St., Bernard's was built in the downtown area of Akron.
