Thanks for the BISHOP names. For now, and with the documents I've collected thus far, these BISHOPs don't ring a bell. I forgot to mention when I submitted the form for sending in requests for death certificates to the Health department on S. Main St., at 10 cents each that they start at 1909 and later. And, no research there at their new place. I stand corrected if I am wrong but I questioned the staff about all these are the answers they gave me.
I don't know anything about in Summit Co., but if anyone cares about Hancock County, the Hancock County Board of Elections has the old cards on microfilm. The ones I copied run from 1930 to 1958. I'm quite sure 1930 is the earliest for the cards, at least in Hancock County. Of course, cards continued on after 1958, but that was the end of the second set of cards. I don't know if they were microfilmed after that or not. Other county boards of election may or may not also haved filmed their cards. But it's something to check into. I was thrilled to find signatures! Of course, birthdays and current addresses are also on the cards. Happy hunting. Ann annbrick@turbosurf.net

Website for Akron-Summit County Library genealogical desk: mherlevi@ascpl.lib.oh.us or for other info it's ascpl.lib.oh.us. Right now they are not charging anything. Don't know how far back - they pull obits from the Akron Beacon Journal files. You can also get research at a minimal cost at the Ohio Historical Society - research per name costs about $5.00. If you know date of death you can get death certificates for $1.00 each (or marriage certificates). ************************************************** QUILTERS ARE SCRAPPY PEOPLE 8-]]] ************************************************** My paternal family: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/5096
What is the web site for the Akron Library? Also, can you order obits from them- how far back and how much? Thanks. Noreen
