    1. [OHSUMMIT-L] New to the list and need HELP!!
    2. Hello everyone! Im new to this list, and I have several questions that Im wondering if someone, anyone can help me with. I have been looking for my MCDONALD/MCDONNELL family for quite some time now. They have been in Maryland and Pennsylvania until a certain point in my tree. Family story had it that my Great Grandfather sent his son George McDonald to live in Akron, OH. When I received my Great Grandfathers death certificate, and obituary, it did list a son, George McDonald(jr?) living in Akron,OH. Recently I discovered George McDonalds sister, Annie McDonald Murphy in the city of Akron OH, in the 1920 census living with her Mother Sophia McDonald, and her children, Regina, Blacky?,Thelma and Damin Murphy. I had thought maybe the illusive George (jr) McDonald may have been living with her,but he was not. Ok, now that you have a sliver of my history, heres what I need help with.... Sophia McDonald died 12 March 1928 in Akron,OH, she was buried 15 Mar 1928 in MD. How can I get a copy of her death certificate? George McDonald was in Akron in 1941 when his Grandfather John McDonald died, and still in Akron in 1956 when his father George died. Any idea how to find him? Family history says George jr was born abt 1900 or before, he is not with his father in the 1900,1910 or 1920 census. Im also looking for Anna McDonald Murphys husband. I do not know his first name. He died sometime between 1913-1920. His last child Damin was born in Ohio abt 1913. In the 1920 census Damin is 7 and Anna is a widow. I assume he died in that time frame. I think thats about it for now. I now live in Stark county Ohio. I wasnt born here, nor did I grow up here. I have been here about 8 years now, ironic that Id end up looking for someone here. I do apoligize for the long email, I promise I wont make it a habit. Anyone who might be able to point me in the right direction, I would REALLY appreciate it!!! Thanks to all!!!!! 3. Hello Barbara, If Elizabeth married in 1857 then she was born before 1850. If you found her in the 1870 and 1880 you have a fair idea when and where she was born. If she married in Summit County, she may appear in the 1850 Summit county census with her parents (Rhinehart/Rinehart). So look up every family of that surname in Summit County 1850 census. At least, if you find them (and her siblings) you will see where each sibling and each parent was born. Sure, what the census taker was told could be wrong but it is probably right. Then, check Summit County for land, probate and other records for this family. Look for the marriages of her siblings. No, I don't live in Summit County but my ancestors did. I found some info by mail, some online and also traveled to the county seat a few years ago to explore courthouse records and library records. Also, search the online FHL library catalogue topic Summit County.
