I ordered several HUNT's death certificate and not one of them is a relative. I was trying to find what the maiden names of the HUNT' family were. These HUNT'S seem to all come from WVA. It's late but if anyone replies to OHSUMMIT I will reply but I would prefer not to be e-mailed personally unless we connect with the HUND/HUNT family who came from Grafenhausen Baden Germany in early 1880's or so. Donat HUND aka Anthony HUNT married Sophia RINGWALD and had 6 children. Willie died young age 8 and Sophia died 3 days later and she had two of her young daughters who died leaving her with Biena (Barbara) HUNT HETZEL and Charles hunt who moved to GA and Anthony who married Norah SHIELDS possibly from Dayton OH. and Mary stayed in CA in the late 1900's when the family moved there to Marin County when Anthony being a master brick builder went to help San Francisco rebuild after the disastrous earthquake which almost destroyed the city.
Does anyone know who Peter HETZEL is he is married to a Fedelia. He is not the Peter HETZEL that married Barbara HUND/HUNT in the 1900's. He shows up before the HETZEL's came from Mouterhausen Moselle France. There is a brother Michael HETZEL who was Johann's (John) brother (Johann married Catherine GURTNER and Michael was married to an Elizabeth WALKER. both were married in France. Also, there was a Fedelia HETZEL but I believe she is the daughter of Michael so I am confused with this new relationship. Thanks

Surnames: re rea reale reali reo ria rei corea marea Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DYB.2ACE/1477 Message Board Post: The Rea surname does not only trace back to Scotland. My own ancestors are from the village of Arpino in the province of Frosinone, Lazio, Italy. A common southern Italian surname, it is concentrated in this single small province, where there are some 540 families called Rea. It must be linked to the other Italian surnames, amongst them 'Re', 'Reale', 'Reali', 'Corea', 'Rei', 'Reo', 'Ria', 'Reu'. In Italian, Rea means 'culprit' (feminine), Reo (masculine). When the local wool industry collapsed after the 1800s there was mass emigration across Europe and the Americas. Some settled in the British Isles. Some say the name is originally of Spanish origin, as they ruled southern Italy for a period from 1442 to the 1700s. Many soldiers from the Spanish Armada were shipwrecked off the west coast of Ireland. They press-ganged Italian men into their navy and armies, and this explains some Italian Spanish surnames in Ireland, e.g. Rea, Marra, De Valera, Costa, Costello, Cavanna. (Rea in the Italian context is pronounced 'Ray-a'.) Tony Rea http://mysite.freeserve.com/ancoatslittleitaly/
I have just learned that Holy Cross cemetery on Waterloo Rd. will only give information on 3 gravesites for free; after that it is $1.00 each! I have taken photos for people at Glendale and other Akron cemeteries where I had to ask for the information. Retrieving it took no longer than 5 minutes, even if hauling out old ledgers from Civil War days. I was never charged, even when I was given a map, which I always offered to pay for. Has anyone else come across this? I also had called Cirello who handles Rose Hill the other day long distance. I was given information on 9 sites with no problem! This policy seems to be a deterent to those doing genealogy. Noreen in Oregon
I don't know if anyone helped you but the 1930 City Directory is missing and I think there is a gap for the other 1930's city directories. But the ABJ index starts 1929-30-31- and so on and so on. Has anyone helped you? The ABJ index lists (that's Akron Beacon Journal) marriages and after you know when where then you can pursue farther on your family research. Good Luck
Noreen, I called the Akron area cemetery where my great-aunt was buried and asked about more of my BISHOPs. I had no trouble getting ALL the stats over the phone. The people I spoke with were very nice, helpful and surprised that they got a call from California. But I've never heard or run into a fee situation like you mention. It seems to be a little unkind.
