Hello, I am new to this list and I was interested in knowing how you found the obituary from 1950. Do you have a book? I have been looking forever for information Mary Lou BEAN HOGUE who died Dec 24 1963, in Summit County, possibly the Barberton area. Does your information show anythiing on her. Her husband was Leo Carlton "Jack" HOGUE, who after her death moved to Portage County. Thanks so much, Donna JOHNSON Faucheaux

My best guess as to his birth is 1800-1810. He married Maria Adams Stow (she was born in Middletown, Middlesex, CT), They had five children: Marguette Elizabeth, Prudence Amelia, William David, Hannah Abiah, Martha Elizabeth. The children were born between 1837 and 1845, probably all in OH (Stow or Brimfield). I descend through William David. My family has generally assumed that the Randalls came to OH through NY from CT. Is it possible that this David Randall, who disappeared during the civil war, is the David Austin Randall of James and Joanna Pemberton Randall? The localities and timing are sure interesting.

I don't have much history, but I've transcribed the cemetery and taken photographs of many of the stones. The road to the cemetery was washed out back in July when I transcribed it, but it might be repaired today - I'm not sure I haven't been back yet. You can see the photos and transcriptions on my website: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ohiocem/obriencem.htm It's a very peaceful cemetery - in fact, when I walked back to it (I had to park my car near Hudson Rd. and walk about 1/2 mile since the road was out), there were deer grazing right near the entrance. In addition, there's path to a very serene lake at the back of the cemetery. There's also a large porch swing hanging from a tree near that path. Some of the stones are broken, and others are sliding down a small hillside, but many are intact. At the entrance of the cemetery there's a wooden monk who holds flowers. The flowers looked fairly fresh, so Hudson must still maintain the cemetery. In addition, there's a large stone at the entrance which lists each burial, the birth and death for each burial, and the back of the stone shows a plot map. I haven't been able to get a good picture of those maps and listings yet, but I plan to in 2 weeks. If there's someone specific you're looking for, I'll be happy to help. Chris Lindegarde

Try writing to the Akron-Summit County Public Library at this address: 55 S. Main St. Akron OH 44326 I recently wrote to them requesting some obituaries from the Akron Beacon Journal. They came back in about a week. I gave the name and the date of death, and enclosed a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Copies were 5 cents each, though I sent a little extra just in case. Hope this helps. Good luck. Mike Powers Long Beach CA

Best bet is to contact the Akron Beacon Journal they might charge you for the obituary but it would be minimal. Sorry I don't know their e-mail addresses. But they are located on Exchange St. Akron OH. Good luck
