Hi all! Today I received a copy of the 1907 Cuyahoga Co. Voter Registration list from Western Reserve. Joseph Roberts was naturalized 19 October 1876, Probate Court, Summit Co. Is there someone in the area who would be willing to go to the courthouse and get copies of everything connected to this naturalization? The important info I really need is place of birth in Wales, port of entry and date of arrival. I would like copies of everything available though. Be happy to pay for your time, cost of copies and postage. Carole Lubbers Marietta, Ga.

Am I able to access the DAR records or does one need a membership? The info on William Mansfield is great! Too bad some of the spellings a wrong. Is there a way to submit corrections? i.e. Yessner should be Gessner. Fink should be Frink. Thanks for the lookup!

Hi, I missed the original email regarding this topic. I am a member of the Summit County Chapter, but I just joined. Do you have any idea when the information appeared? I know that you don't have the newsletter any longer, but I thought I'd check anyway. Perhaps someone else has some information. I am researching LaROCQUE and HAYWOOD. Thank you. Probate records should go back to 1846 when Summit Co. was formed. As for birth records, unless you can find a family Bible or an announcement in a local newspaper, you are out of luck. Ohio did not require birth records until after 1900, though a law was passed to record them in the 1880s but with no penalties . Roger Rhoads

One note of advice - I did the transcriptions on the website listed below for O'Brien Cemetery, and many stones were broken, sliding down a hillside. There are additional persons buried in that cemetery that are not listed because the stones were unreadable. There IS, however, a stone at the entrance of the cemetery that lists all burials, some with birth years and death years. If you are looking for someone specific that is not listed in the transcription, let me know and I'll try to make a trip over to O'Brien to check that stone. I am researching a TAYLOR family from Trenton, NJ and other than the census I could not find much about them nor their personal life whether there was deafness in the family. There was a wife but she was not listed in anything that I found but her maiden name was SULLIVAN. This particular TAYLOR family is from England also. It's getting late for me so if you wish more information on the TAYLOR family please send to Mayboleayr@aol.com or clasonpoint@hotmail.com. Thanks
If I remember correctly there was a list of names abut Guardianship's that the Summit County Chapter printed in their newsletter The Highpoint and in the list one of the family names was mentioned KOEBERLE. That's all I know. I don't think that I saved the list.

I looked through my copy of "Cemeteries of Summit County Ohio", actually I only have a few pages of the original, and found several Taylors but no Lorenzo or Mary. I did find a child named Mariah who is buried there. She was 1 year and 24 months, it's how the stone reads, and died 3 Oct 1848. Do you know if Lorenzo and Mary may have had a daughter by that name? I also have a copies of the 1840, 1850 1860 and 1870 Summit County census that I can search if you would like. I'm not sure but I think that a cousin of my mother in law's married a Taylor. Terre Watt
