Isn't Medina in Medina County. Though close to Summit it is a separate county. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks
I am researching both the DEACON/DACON families and the WALKER Family and a DEACON married Harriet O'BRIEN. Thanks for your information.
I would like to share family information with anyone who is researching these names. The ANDREWS family lived Akron named Minnie and Floyd ANDREWS but limited info on where they came from. An ANDREWS married a HETZEL. The HETZEL's (HITZEL's) came from Mouterhausen, Dept Moselle, France moved to Akron, OH The HUNT's (HUND's) and the RINGWALD's came from Lahr, Baden, Germany The LABBE's came from Germany or Austria? and lived Canal Fulton and Akron OH
If you need a user name to get on to the site why isn't there an explanation on how to get a user name to get on the site. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for all the info on the O'Brien Cemetery but I live in Stow so can get there myself I just think that I read you have to go to the police department for approval before you go there. Can anyone verify that information. Thanks
Summit County Highpoint did print an Index to the Guardianship Records of Summit County circa 1988. Try contacting the Summit County Genealogical Society about the index. Good luck.
Thanks for the information about the O'Brien cemetery and has the Hudson group done a booklet on the O'Brien cemetery? Seems to me that they possibly did and that would help in finding the plots. I have family in Calvary Cemetery in the older section and they said that the tombstones have disintegrated over the years and they were buried there before the 1890s. Thanks
Summit County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society use Keyword "Finding Summit County Records" has a concise list of Vital Statistics for Summit County. And the collection Akron Public Library has. The library at this time has every book they own out on the shelves in a temporary site in Akron. The Library has a genealogical librarian which is great as the only other library I knew had any was the National genealogical Library in Arlington, VA.

Hi there Buck-eyes ... This is my first posting to your wonderful list ... I just returned a couple of weeks ago from Delaware County, NY ... I wish I lived closer ... Los Angeles is quite a trip ... anyway, the point of my invading your screens is, that on my last trip I made a discovery that I need some assistance with ... I just discovered that Walter Eells LYON (13 Nov 1902-04 Oct 1958) son of Fred Burr LYON and Elizabeth Boice CARSON born in Walton, Delaware Co, NY and died in Akron, Summit Co, OH was married ... who knew? ... he passed before I was born ... and I knew his older sister Esther Louise LYON (18 Aug 1897-02 Jul 1980) also born in Walton, but passed in St. Petersburg, Pinellas Co, FL ... they were cousins to my Mother ... my grandfather Frank CARSON was the youngest brother of Elizabeth Boice CARSON ... Walter & Esther had a younger brother Marvin B. LYON (07 Feb 1909-31 May 1993) also born in Walton, passing in Cobleskill, Schoharie Co, NY ... I believe Marvin never married ... I know Louise never married ... but here is what I just discovered about Walter ... One of my CARSON cousins had a picture of Walter when he was just a wee bit of a boy ... and he had the newspaper clipping giving great detail about his marriage to Doris M. HOLMES (06 Nov 1904-24 Apr 1994) daughter of A. HOLMES at Christ Episcopal Church in Walton. It mentioned Doris' siblings Thelma, Letha, Arthur and R.C.S. Holmes, plus other guests. It doesn't unfortunately give the date. I am looking for anyone with any knowledge of Walter & Doris ... any of their siblings ... or any of their children ... Thanks John A.
