    3. Hi Linda: I wonder if you could check a student in the West High Rodeo 1931 issue for me? I have the 1930 and my dad is a junior. I am hoping he might have been in the 1931 as a Sr? In the two yearbooks I have (1928 & 1930), the underclassmen are in group pics and the seniors are larger individual pictures....I hope, I hope!! Thanks very much! Judy Warth PS Does anyone have any Garfield High books from the 1930's??

Thanks for the other info. on George's family too. I realized that I had missed seeing them on the 1900 census so I looked at it and with your info. was able to fill in lots of blanks. I had the chldn. out of order but wonder if George and J. Edna were the first two or the last two. I had a letter from Grace Hieb many years ago. I have her husband as G.H. Hieb but cannot find him in the censuses. If I find it and there is more info. I will let you know. Yes, Gilbert had a son named Gilbert W. I have 5 chldn. for them but there could be 3 more girls and 1 more boy. They are Matilda Elvira, Chester,Gilbert W., Emeline and Ellen Charlotte. I will give you more about each one a little at a time. Claudia

Actually, according to family oral history, her asthma was the reason they moved from Michigan/Ohio to Virginia. Sorry for the oops. Jan

Anyway...I too have info on some descendants on Gilbert & Abigal but nothing on Gilbert's ancestors. Did Gilbert also have a son named Gilbert born 1923/25? George's children were: George Albert and Josephine Edna McAlpine both died in infancy or young; Robert Stoneman McAlpine (Jan 1885 in MIchigan), Ernest Joseph McAlpine (2-19-1891in Ohio), Louis Allen McAlpine (Feb 1894 in Virginia), Lawrence Washington McAlpine (2-22-1897 in Henrico County, Virginia - my granfather d. Feb 1967, Portsmouth, VA); Grace Iris McAlpine (b. Jan 1899; 1st husband Russell Sunday; 2nd husband's last name of Heib or Hieb, died before 1967, I believe). My dad said from what he remembers that Ernest died in WWI and Robert died in a train accident. Jan

Charlotte. Her dau. Abbie was my ggrandmother. I have Georges family as having 7 chldn., but I only have the birthdates of the first 3. Do have the rest? I have quite a bit on Gilberts descendents but have never found his parents. He was married to Abigail Short the dau. of Zachariah Short and Phebe Cook. Chester Sickler, son of Gilbert, was married to Lucinda Higbee, widow of Lemuel Williams. He may have been married before that because there is a dau. Sarah with them on the 1860 Summit, OH census that was b. before their marr. Do you have anyone still living in your family who knows anything more about the family? Claudia

All I know about Matilda's father is that his name was Gilbert Sickler and he married Abigal Short (this is all based on oral family history). What else I have gleaned has been from other people's info. I also have the picture of Zebulon from Ancientfaces.com. George Albert McAlpine (1850-1930) is my father's paternal grandfather, making him my great-grandfather. Look forward to hearing from you. Jan
