I am sure you do if you live by him........Anyways, we went and talked to him and I think a lot of the stuff he says about the house is mostly for his benefit and not the actual truth. He showed us a tool that was found in the house when his family bought it. Was our family's but he wouldn't even sell it to us. He also wanted to charge me $100 for a picture of the house. I just went over there one day and went across the street with my digital camera and took it myself!

She had everything I had, and I am finding that some of the information listed in the published books are wrong. They list Moses having come to Medina County in 1821, but he was in the 1820 census. They also list him as being in the Revolutionary War, I have found that it was another Moses Shaw, and not my Moses, that was in the R.W. There are Shaw's in the Bath area that I am almost sure that are in our line, just haven't found the connection. I live by IBH. Not too far from Dusty's. In fact, we go there every year to see the fire works! Great display!! My kids go to Coventry, one to the HS and the other is at Erwine. Both of my parents graduated from there, so that is kinda neat to have them in there! It is a really good school system!

Seems to me it was you or someone else that I answered a question for the asked about the HALE's??? maybe? I seem to remember responding to someone about the SHAW's and another family in the Johnson Corner area. Wait..... no it was BLISS I think. My sister lives off of Johnson on Roop and the two streets before that are Bliss and Garrett and I know I spoke to someone regarding that area. But seems they were interested in the Hale Farm area and when I did a query I found these people in the Barberton/Norton area. I believe I remember seeing Shaw too.... email me [email protected] Yes They moved the house years ago and a Dairy Mart is where it was. They moved it just about less than a 1/4 mi from where it was and is an insurance/title agency. The McDonalds between 2nd and 3rd st. and Wooster Rd and Tusc. First Merit bank is on one corner and oposite corners have been torn down except for the ones on the West side of 3rd st. and! Tusc which is the "downtown" district. LOL But I think I know which building. It should be like on 3rd and Park diagonal from the old Great Northern Bank and across from Lake Anna.

I live on Greenwich Rd. I grew up in Norton since I was 2 so know about every home in the area. Unfortunately I don't know anything about your family. However.... in Norton there is the Lohr house on Greenwich Rd. which serves as the Norton Historical Society. They are open most Mondays. You can find them on line do a search on the City of Norton, OH and dig around its there but not sure of the actuall site. Get there hours and phone number. THEY would be the ones that can help you I'm sure. Where in the Lakes you live? I know the area well. Used to belong to Dusty's, actually thats where I got married.

Surnames: Smith Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DYB.2ACE/2415.1.1 Message Board Post: Hello Nancy, Thank you very much for the speedy response! Grace Smith was born in Chattanooga, TN, but came to Ohio as a child (according to her obit). What exact age, I do not know. I thought that I might get lucky enough to "catch" her on the last (1930) available census. Her date of birth on her second marriage papers is 3 June 1923, on her third marriage it is written oddly, but I presume it is still 1923. I tried to find her in TN for 1930, but couldn't narrow down the zillion Bill/William's, (William/Bill Smith of all names), and don't recall finding any "Daisy" for Chat., Hamilton County, TN. Can I see the info on the "b. 1925" Grace Smith's for Summit County? I will try to see if I can find anything on the census for TN again. Argh! Thank you so much for your help! Sincerely, Richard

When you say they were originally from TN, does that mean that Grace was b TN? The approximate dob's for these Grace Smith's were 1914(2), 1919(1), 1925(2), 1927 and 1928, Let me know if you want more info on any or all of these. Regards, Nancy Edwards [email protected]

Reynolds was born about 1841 in Summitt Co., OH (according to his Civil War discharge papers). I have not been able to find him on the 1850 census. In the 1860 census he was listed with the family of William and Margaret Hawk (both born in Ohio) York township, Putnam Co., MO. He first enlisted for service in the Union Army in Sept., 1861, at Davenport, Iowa. After the war he married Amanda Jane Botts in Schuyler Co., MO. He died there in 1878. I am looking for information about his parents.

Originally from TN, they should have lived in either Barberton or Akron by that time. Regarding her father's name: She seems to have lied on her first marriage license about her parents' names and her dob, because she was underage, so I don't know which (out of her three) marriage papers have the correct parent's names. Because of that, I will list all three sets of parents entered from Grace Smith's marriage papers: 1st marriage--O'Neal Smith, Nancy Smith [Hodgin] 2nd marriage--Bill Smith, Daisy M. Smith [Welch] 3rd marriage--William Smith, Daisy M. Smith [Walsh] I'd go with the second two...when trying to look under her father's name as HOH. If you can please send me the image (in pdf or jpg)attached to email, I'd be very grateful. Many thanks! Richard
