The thing is that he didn't die until 1944 and Alameda Caroline Rush Strole died 30 Sep 1930. How is this possible. What is wrong with this picture?????? I just made the call to the cemetery office and cough some there. . She is going to look things up and get back tome on monday.. How exciting every thing can be when finding more . I found that a friend has gotten the lot No already and will be taking pictures for me. . I just can not thank those people who have helped me over the years . My grandparents (Gail B BROWN aka JACK and Bertha Frances PETERNELL) "supposedly" got married in Aug of 1934. I wrote to the Akron court to request a copy of the record. They searched and found none. Then in talking to an Aunt she said they might have "ran off" to Wellsburg, WV and married there. I wrote to the court house and they searched and have no record there either. I am going to maybe check the surrounding counties as it was suggested they maybe got a licence in a surrounding county just married in Wellsburg. (THOUGHTS?) My grandfather also mentioned they ran off because there was a killing over the wedding planning a jealous)person to wanting the wedding to happen (don't really think that happened tho). This would have been in Akron as they met in a park over there somewhere. So in my search I found out from an aunt that they married in the church so the kids could go to the Catholic Church and make their commencement. I was able to get a copy of the information from St Bernard's Church there is Akron. (April 4 1941) My question as I am not familiar with the catholic guidelines for them to marry in the church if they were already married would they had to have showed proof or gotten another license to do this? Hello All-- There is no published index to Rose Hill cemetery in Akron. A few Akron cemeteries have been indexed, but none of the really big ones. Contact the cemetery at Rose Hill Burial Park & Mausoleum. 3535 Medina Rd. Akron, Oh 44333 330-666-3089 They will send you a map with the grave location. Ask them if it is a family plot, and if so, for the information on who else is buried in it. Ask who paid for it and any other details they may have. They probably won't have the headstone inscription but could tell you if there is one at all. Then post this list with directions to the plot and some kind soul can probably help you out with a personal visit.
