The book I got that information from was published in 1902. There are other Sonnhalters who settled in Ohio and were probably all related--I saw a group in Tuscarawas County and there is a group now in Cleveland. I have not gotten that far in compiling any information on the relationship of those people but I will let you know if I find out anything. The family came from Saarland, Wehrden and Saarbrucken. Philip's father was John (Johannes) and was born in Saarland (?date) and died in 1862 in Massillon. His wife was Catherine Luzemburger (or Luxemberger) was born in Germany(?date) and died in Massillon in 1856. They came to the US in 1855.
