Hi Richard, It would be great if a collection of these letters survived, and we could read those of our ancestors'. Looking for more information about Samuel MAURER (MOURER) Enlisted at Navarre, Died 15 July 1863, Gettysburg. Scott Maurer I have a relative who is not listed who lived his whole life in Stark Co. and served and had among his duties the writing of the letters telling the next of kin of the deaths of their relative/soldiers from Ohio in the aftermath of that battle. He also years later gave a speech at the dedication of Ohio's stone memorial at Gettysburg.
