Subtitle: Mexican War Soldiers of Tipton County. Page 80. Under his photo it says: John Forrer, born in Lancaster, Pa., 1826. Served in Sixth U.S. Infantry as first lieutenant and participated in all the important battles. He was peresonally known to Generals Scott and Taylor. Came to Tipton in 1875 and engaged in milling and buying grain. Was active in civic affairs of Tipton and for the betterment of society. He died in Tipton, age 53.
