I've "rescued" an old photograph of Marguerite BATES and Barrett F. BATES which was taken at the Wells Studio in Odessa, Missouri. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with the two children appearing to be 4-6 years old at the time the photograph was taken. In addition to their names, someone has also written the name "Hurbert" on the back of the photograph as if that might be to whom the photograph was given. Based on limited research and thanks to the assistance of a BATES Family Researcher I have gathered the following information regarding this family: Marguerite Ellis BATES b. 1889 in Bates City, MO, married Joseph Blaine WISE Jr. on 12 Dec 1917 in Lexington, MO and died 17 Nov 1964 in Waynesburg, OH. Barrett Ferdinand BATES draft registration indicates his birth date as 30 Oct 1891. He later moved to WI and died in WI in Dec 1963.
